A Visit to the Indian Consulate
The Indian Consulate is located in the Al Hamaria Diplomatic enclave, between the Dubai creek and the erstwhile Strand Cinema intersection. Until recently, a visit to the consulate was required for all NRI residents at one time or the other for Passport renewal, Birth Certificates, Attestations, etc. There was a time when a visit to the consulate for any of these services required almost a whole day - arrive early and queue at the gate, rush inside for the tokens, wait again to be called, wait for photocopies, pay the correct change, return another day to collect the document. Most of the time, one would need to return thrice or more after the given date before the document would be ready for collection.
Hopefully, these are all in the past. Now most of the document receipt and delivery is outsourced to Empost. Empost has counters dedicated for Passport and Visa services and open 7 days a week. Most transactions can be carried out. More Details
